Parish Council Information
The villages of East and West Runton are combined for local government purposes into two electoral wards, each represented by six Parish Councillors.
Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month with the exception of December, which is on the third Tuesday, and in August there is no meeting.
The venues alternate between the Reading Room at East Runton and the Church Hall at West Runton. The Annual Parish Meeting also alternates between the villages.
The East Runton Village Hall and West Runton Church Hall are available to book.

BEING A COUNCILLOR
From time to time a vacancy occurs in the parish in between elections. The Parish Council would fill this post by co-option unless an election is called.
Becoming a Councillor will allow you to make a difference in our Parish.
Engaging with local businesses, residents and groups to find out their needs and making decisions on projects for the Parish Council to take forward.
Being a Parish Councillor is a voluntary part-time commitment which many people manage around full or part time jobs, family or other commitments. You need to set aside an hour or two each week including engaging with your community and Clerk and attending meetings or committees and advisory groups.
In order to qualify to be a Parish Councillor you must be a British citizen, eligible Commonwealth citizen, or a citizen of any member state of the European Union. You must be at least 18 years old. Also during the past 12 months you must have been on the electoral roll for Runton or have occupied as owner or tenant, premises or land within Runton Parish
or have had your principal or only place of work in Runton Parish area, or have lived in or within three miles of Runton Parish area.
